Amazon have knocked £120 off the price of the 16Gb Nexus 9 tablet. The 32Gb version also has £100 knocked off the price.

Converting to €€€, it's about €280. Pc World are selling it for €400.

British exchange rate is a killer eh?

No availability in Dublin for this. Have ordered one which says will be available early next week for collection so not too bad I guess. Good price. Wondering if worth ordering now off Amazon instead in case Argos dont get the stock in.

There's 1 left in Carlow so I'm very tempted.

Once you add on ROI's VAT Argos ends up being just a tiny bit cheaper.

Bought the 16gb Nexus 9 tablet last month for the £200 offer in John Lewis including a 2 year warranty.

I would not recommend the 16gb tablet when compared to my old Nexus 7 2012 tablet. Primary 16gb is far to small for a tablet. In particular there was only 10.5gb usable space on the tablet when I purchased. From this all the pre installed aps (maps etc) need to be deducted leaving less than 8gb real world storage which is ridiculous. As of this evening I have under 200mb of free space. No music, no photos, no movies, only a handful of apps, and a few readly magazines installed. The battery is equally awful. It barely last the evening after I get home from work.

On the plus side the tablet itself is amazing. Great speakers and screen and just the right size for me. Fantastic for relaxing and surfing the net. It is a real pity the tablet is completely unusable in the real world.

Hold on a second there, you wouldn't recommend it compared to a 2012 N7. Surely it is leagues ahead of the original N7 (one of which I have).

What apps are taking up so much space for you?

I've had both versions of the N7 and the N9. No comparison between Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 9, the 9 is far superior.

The storage issue is the same for any device without an SD card slot regardless of manufacturer. Every device will have part of the storage taken up by the OS. A Nexus device will also have pure android and have less bloatware compared to other manufacturers - less bloatware leaves you with more free space.

Not sure how you've managed to fill a 16gb model with just apps. I've the 32gb model since launch and I still have approx half of the 32 gb free and unused.

You might want to look at how you're using the tablet. No need to fill the device with music and movies. The days where you'd fill a tablet with all your mp3s are gone. Upload your collection and use Google music to sync/download whatever subset you need for a particular device at a specific time. For movies you can use USB OTG and Nexus media importer app. Connect a USB key this way and you have all the media files you need without filling up the tablet.

The original N7 is showing its age but both the N9 and latest N7 are working perfectly for me.

I reserved two but only used code for one. It's a black 16gb model in Sligo. They gave it to me at 279. If anyone wants it

Managed to get Nexus 9 32Gb for 275e.
    Delivery from amazon.de

Amazon Warehouse Used Deal but its Factory Sealed. Got 47e off using Amazon Prime Trial too.

Happy out with that as its 570e in Argos. I think 489e in Pcworld.
