Performance car rental Germany (erento.com)

    Hey Folks,

I've been thinking of going on a driving trip to Germany some weekend.

It's only of interest if I can drive something like a Porsche or Audi R series.

Has anybody come across erent.com? It seems like some kind of p2p car rental service with prices all over the place? I would have though that there would be market rate of at least 300-400 per day on these cars. Erento seems to have them for less. I'm wondering if there are any hidden costs etc. What is really going to cost me?

For example, this R8 is €200 per day which is peanuts imho. But then theres the ambiguous (lost in translation) quotes per distance. i.e. €299 per 100km.

Does that mean that i'm paying €300 to drive 100km

Any other alternatives? I'm thinking of heading around Munich and seeing some of the museums also. Would be interested in track driving also but would only be interested in driving cars on offer from the track.

    Has anybody done this before?

Actually, a mate just cancelled out on me so probably going solo for now. Would anybody be interested in coming along?

    Cheers

EDIT :: It looks like the pricing for €300 per 100km is for some type of hold and service that may not apply to regular rental. I'm keeping the question there as it could be a hidden cost.

If you look at his site:

    Audi R8 V10 Coupe
    1 Std. inkl. 50km - 99,- EUR
    1 Tag inkl. 50km - 199,- EUR
    1 Woche inkl. 400km - 1599,- EUR
    1 Monat inkl. 1500km - 4999,- EUR

Then you can pay for additional kilometers on top.

    Ah ok, hadn't seen that.

That's kind of reasonable then I guess.

You would think that 50km per day is alright.. but if your main purpose is to go on a driving weekend then it's probably not.

    Thanks.

I guess a driving weekend would clock up a few kilometres. Depends on how you understand driving weekend. At a minimum 500 kilometres I guess? I could see people doing 2000 or more during a driving weekend.
