Bastard blackbirds like to sit on the dish and sometimes create issues with signal loss as they bounce it up and down landing and leaving. Any ideas to stop them sitting on the dish?

It could also be Cobwebs! I found that out the other night when we got some torrential rain showers and the signal went, I went to the dish and I could see a wall of cobweb covered in rain droplets sploshing around in front of the dish and between the dish and the LNB. When this was swept away the issue was fixed:)

For the blackbirds you could get a pellet gun but shooting them might not be legal or look for some of that anti pigeon spike strip that is all over buildings to stop the pigeon.

Shot gun do the trick..Sure the holes from the pellets will only make it more aerodynamic

Put a big scary scarecrow on the arm of the dish :D

Cables ties on the LNB arm is a common trick for this. Can be attached to edge of dish too.

Cable ties work a treat as exactly shown in the picture shown simply point them upwards and cut at different lenghts any birds landing on the bar now will get a sharp pain and immediately vacate :-)

Tie a cat to the dish. The cat will be really grumpy, and the birds won't go near it.
