Astra 03 1.4 16v problems

Hi I was hoping someone could guide me in what to do, I have a 03 Astra njoy 1.4 16v petrol. Its hard to start unless I keep my foot on the accelerator when starting, otherwise it takes a long time to start and id say the starter would burn out if you done it repeatedly.

Also its throwing up p0110 code and p0400 twice when doing the pedal test.
I have cleaned the egr valve with carb cleaner and gave it a little bit of wd-40 to help the accuater in it to move freely (Hopefully). Iv had the p0400 proble for a few months now but didnt bother changing it because the price is high and iv read that it dosent realy affect the cars preformence.

But in the last week or so the car is throwing up the p0110 error, iv started the car and unpluged the sender unit and the engine doesnt change revs or anything, should it? So would it be the sender unit or should i be looking somewhere elce for problems??

Also the car has NGK's twinspark in it, has being serviced every 14k - 15k miles, all filters done at the same rate, coolent flush, break fluid flush etc.

Any help or insight woud be very helpfull, thanks.
