    Hi,

Small dairy farmer here, and my old style gas condenser cooler unit is low in gas and repair man says the gas is no longer available so cant repair. . .

Is this true, and what can I do to replace this unit, or can it be repaired? (at a somewhat reasonable price!!)

The unit is running perfect except for low in gas.

Can I get the gas myself anywhere???

Any repair man who fits new compressors should have it as they remove the gas from the old compressor and this has to be sent to germany.
A new unit is up to 3k

And was my repair man correct in saying that he was not able to re-fill my condenser unit as the gas is now unavailable???

I was told that you can get alternative gas to the 404 gas that will work in old compressors. Then again I had a tank on old gas and I had to change the tank because of the gas.

Yes as it's illegal now due to environmental issues I believe.
