Nova Broadband tower locations

    Hi All,
I've just moved to Ballintotis in Cork (between Midleton and Castlemartyr) and Eircom are proving less than satisfactory (taking ages to get broadband moved to new address and can't get a clear answer on what speeds I'll be getting once its active but sadly its probably going to be less than 5MB/s.
I'm looking into alternatives and Nova seem to offer the best speeds.
What I can't seem to find is information on the location of their towers, so I can check if I have line of sight to one of them, does anyone have this info or have any experience good or bad with them?
    Thanks,
    Dom1978

I've used Nova before. I'd check Irish Broadband first if they're still around. Last time I used Nova, they had crippling monthly caps. When I had Irish Broadband, it wasn't hugely fast but I can download anything and everything I liked.

I have been with Nova for years. I am currently experiencing poor speeds with them but to be fair the speeds have been fantastic for years so probably a localised issue. They are highly rated on ratemyisp.com - as for crippling caps - as long asim with them they have based the cap as a daily cap base don your package (10GB per day on the 20mb package) and they dont charge extra but rather just throtle ur connection to 100bps after cap is reached until midnight and then reset - ive hit this once in 7 years!) Definately better than irish broadband if u have good line of site to a mast - on their website they have a form that u fill out , enter ur GPS co -ords and they can tell you if ur covered by them

    Hi Folks,

Dom1978 - If you email sales @ novabroadband.ie with your GPS coordinates our sales team will do a desktop survey and can tell you what base stations are serving your location.

doodahump - The daily allowance on the MyWave 20M package is 20GB per day, even better!

Been with Nova now about 9 months and love mine, upgraded from Eircom 3mb.
This is what I'm getting atm

To get the tower locations its best to email/phone them with your general area to help them find which mast is best

Nova are incredibly inconsistent in every sense. I've had some really good experiences with their support staff and an absolutely god awful time with one person in particular. They just seem under resourced. You're may have no connection, but you'll phone up and be told that "everything is fine from what we can see here". Things got so bad for me that I purchased a number of domains (that nova really should have bought) with the intention of uploading all my conversations /emails to in order to get an actual response out of them. Luckily I ended not having to use this, but I still have them if the need arises. Mine isn't an isolated case either, I've found out a number of people with similar complaints to me as well and documented them. I've put off a number of friends in the area with my experience. They'll now wait for the Eircom roll-out. And this is the thing. Efibre is coming.

I don't understand how they operate like this. It annoys me for the owners sake. They're a small company, operating on the margins and absolutely need to retain the goodwill of their customers. They can't afford to have the CS of a major ISP because there will come a time when those ISP will start operating in their areas and just take their business. As is happening in my area. Soon I'll be leaving them. I shouldn't be looking forward to dealing with Eircom again, but I am.

Hi oafley. Thank you for your feedback. We would encourage you to get in touch if you are having any issues. We will be able to confirm if the issue is at our end and a fix time or if the issue is at your own end.

There are no issues with us being under resourced and if a customer has no connection we will be able to tell them if the issue is with Nova or on their own side. If everything is fine on our side then the issue will be on the customer side.

99% of our feedback is beyond excellent, so this is quite unusual. We would encourage you to let us know what you would like to discuss and we will be happy to answer any questions you have.
