Last night the 'Tony O'Reilly - the real deal' was flagged as being on RTE 1+1, but when the programme was due to start, a blue screen appeared with the message that it was not available.

What sort of mickey mouse operation are they running?

I was watching it live but got a long phone call, so I checked it was on the +1 according to the epg, but it was not when it came to it.

I noticed that as well. It is similar to the reeling in the years programme. I pressume that the cost of archive film footage make it expensive to show on a +1 channel.

Type of programme that would have repeated on RTÉ plus

RTE1+1 is a waste of money, RTE Plus should be set up asap

no RTE player on sky catch up

RTE player online and rte player on samsung smart tvs are crap, freeze for more ads

TV3 player on sky catch up is suitable when I need to watch something later from TV3/3e like new episodes of family guy and american dad, 7 months before UK TV

My main complaint is that they showed it as being available and then not showing it. I know it is available on RTE Player, but that is not the point. It should be possible to keep an eye out for programmes that do not have repeat rights on the +1 channel.

Indeed it is time to review the basis of +1 channels - are they repeats or just time delayed?

Also it is time for RTE Plus and a better RTE News Now (like a decent news channel), and a few other changes like OTV on Saorview.

In fact I think it is time for Saorview as a whole to be offered as 'must offer, must carry' to any platform. In other words the likes of Sky and UPC must take all or nothing, which includes Saorsat.

+1 channels are a waste of bandwidth. PVR's are commonplace now making them redundant.

RTE wanted a RTE Plus channel but TV3 moaned and it never got the go ahead.

My point is RTÉ still have the repeat issue for RTÉ Plus, it doesn't make sense that programmes produced by RTÉ are unavailable what ever about imports.

RTE3 could be a great little channel -showing neighbours and home and away again and all the other good oz stuff they stick on at 3am in the morning.

Of course TV3 would not like this at all.

Actually, RTE Plus would show a lot of archived programmes, like old Late Lates, and Questions abd Answers, etc. Should be great stuff.
