So i have been out of the golf membership scene for the last two years as i have been working abroad back and forth from the states. I was wondering if i would be able to re join my club but would i have to pay the full membership fee? Anybody been in the same situation before? Also how does the 3 card rule to enter competitions work when you have not been a member?

I am already dreaming of September! However playing at a Jack Nicklaus designed course for now will have to do!

Thanks in advance guys appreciate the help!

You'll have to contact your old club regarding the membership fee as no one here is going to know.

You will have to submit three cards again but it's likely you will get a very similar handicap to what you had before. Your 3 cards won't be able to come from competition play.

Ah well as an Athlonian I obviously have to plug that you would be joining Athlone.

No signing on fee and you could join for the first year for 450 quid :)

You will of course be able to play in all competitions in athlone. There was a GUI rule knocking about a while ago where people couldnt play open comps on strange courses till they were member of their home club for a year, but I forget what that was or if its still in operation
