    hey,

I'm going to South America in September, flying into Buenos Aires. I really want to do some snowboarding for the first week or two, down south or in Chile. I've read in some other threads about Cerro Castor, and have heard about places like Bariloche and La Hoya. La Hoya seems like the best bet, as it should have snow into mid October.

What do ye all think? Also, do ye know anyone going to South America this time of year? I'll be backpacking up through Argentina, Chile, Peru etc until December after the snowboarding, so I'm also wondering if I should bother bringing my own gear!?

    edson.
