Applied for Forever Living

Took a year out of college as money was running short and chose to spend it working, studying and making headway into getting a driving license.
Anyway, I've been on phone to someone from the company and bar sending back the application form, it's all set up and ready.
Now I haven't actually had an official long term job before due to academic commitments so don't know process.
Only thing that kind of worried me was I've to buy a pack before I start working, it's a selling position, of all the produce I'll me selling (health items) so I know what I'm selling, which amounts to just under 400e.
Now I'm desperate for a job but don't want to be naive either and taken for a fool.
I've looked up the name of who I spoke to and found her on LinkedIn so it looks legitimate, just being extra precautionary. There is a station in Cork and Dublin anyway in Ireland at least.

Anyone who has worked there, or knows someone who has, if you could shed some light on it, I'd be very grateful.

    Thanks in advance!

I was asked to work for these but didn't even consider it. The products are extremely overpriced for what they are. Who are you going to sell to?

It's basically a pyramid scheme where you make more money the more people you get involved. €400 is a lot of money to pay for a 'job'; I was offered a starter pack of €30 but i would only get x% on the sales. If I went for the dearer starter pack I would get a higher commission but so would the person who brought me in. It's absolutely irrelevant what you are selling OP, it's all about how many other sales people you can recruit.

Just search for 'Forever Living' on boards to get more feedback.

    Amway lite?

    Steer clear.

    From the home page...

"Discover why over nine and a half million Forever Business Owners in over 145 countries love Forever Living Products"

9,500,000 business owners? All making a go of it? How many of those 9.5m do you suppose even make back their initial 'investment', OP?

Multi level marketing = trickle-down frustration.

If you put 400 into in I'd be very surprised if you broke even, let alone made any money.

    Don't waste your time, it's a scam.

Sorry for delay, my head has been wrecked the past few days contemplating.
Eventually decided to turn it down.
Tried to look at it from every angle first but above links were very helpful too.
Seems to remind me a lot of Avon over in England, people plaguing your facebook and emails for you to buy products and these are far from cheap and I'm not the perfect ambassador to be selling diet kits and cosmetics.. :P

Cheers for assistance, think I'm dodging a bullet.

Wise decision on your part. So sick of 'friends' asking me to come join their team! NO!

How did your supplier take it when she realised she wasn't getting a chunk of that 400 (plus a percentage of any further sales)?
