    Hello!

I am getting married here the year after next and am wondering if anybody has been at a wedding here or even had their wedding here & might be able to shine some light onto what you thought worked with the venue in terms of food, decor etc.

We fell in love with the hotels views from the function room.

    Hi Ms. Sunshine,

We had our wedding at the Connemara Coast during the last month. Overall they were really excellent. Family members went to check out the room layout up a couple of weeks in advance (before a wedding started), and said it was set up really nicely. So, it wasn't a case of sparing our feelings that they said that, as we had time to make changes, and for the few touches we wanted they were very accommodating.

One tip: the lighting was not really dimmed after the meal and the room felt quite bright for the dancing. Have the best man or bridesmaid on standby to ask them to dim the lights a bit if they think it is too bright. The bar area was especially bright (more like the bright lights of Supermacs after the pub than the pub itself). I noticed it but forgot about it because we were enjoying the day so much.

All of the food was good and served at a good pace, and plenty of it.

Feel free to PM me any questions!

Good choice OP it's a fantastic hotel, the views are amazing and the staff are supremely helpful. The food is fantastic, Ive stayed there on a good few occasions for different events and the food is consistently good there. The only small thing I found was that with the bar being outside the function room, it can be a little hard to keep your gusts in the same room where all the dancing is going on, they can have a tendency to chat out in the bar area and stay put out there! Apart from that though, no complaints :)

Thanks for the replies :) I will assign a BM to make sure the lights are dimmed during the dancing - good tip!! It is odd that they don't do this automatically.
The bar to the side of the function room wasn't really an issue for us - we kind of liked that aspect but never thought of it splitting the group. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this happeneing I wonder?.... I suppose if the band is really good it should't be too big an issue...!?!
