I use Eley Alphamax 36g BB's and a full choke in the semi. Ducks are a hardy animal to knock , but geese are a hell of a lot tougher. When you think about all the thick layers of waterproof layers. Saying that, youre best just aiming for the head and ignoring the rest of the body.

I use b&p 6 36gm if any way close an have no complaints and the geese didn't either lol

The smallest size shot I would recommend is #3 &1's, shooting over decoys 30-35meters, .... pass shooting #1 & BB's.

If you're decoying as opposed to foreshore shooting any decent number 4 will do as shots will be close.Shot plenty in Scotland over decoys with no. 4s.

3inch magnums no 4 shot,or if the gun takes it 3.5 magnums.Geese can be deceptive because of their size to distance and speed. So having a bit of ooomph doesnt hurt, especially if you hit the lead bird coming in.[Not a good idea ] as that sometimes can be an old bird leading the flock and thet are so tough in the breast its like they are wearing kevelar.:)

The bigger the better in my books. What chamber size has your shotgun? Can you chamber 3" or 3.5", if so, go with it.

I like hevi shot. If you cannot source some, bb's will do the job too.

A lot depends on what style of shooting you'll be doing. As someone else said, best to ask the guide. They will know their game and what has worked in the past for others.
