    Have been looking at http://labs.strava.com/heatmap/#13/-9.71003/51.87411/blue/run

The roads it suggests are a death trap with cars going by at 70 and running in a small hard shoulder. Looks like laps of the town. Willing to drive 10-15 mins to somewhere but it seems like the worst place I have ever been in finding a place to run.

the lost sheep run route is on quiet roads .. over the bridge, first left off the 'main' road then you are on a quiet road out past sheen falls, you can go for at least 6+miles. its a bit up and down rolling hills

the original (and now current) route for the race finishes in the town so probably why strava shows what looks like laps of the town.

from google this is the route without the town finish (and hill at the end)

Thanks, perfect. I actually went over that bridge today and went right. It was blind corners all the way.

If you like hilly country roads or trails, plenty of choice.

If you like flat wide roads, you're out of luck!

Edit - PM sent to you.

Ran there last year when on holidays and felt a bit vulnerable on the roads alright - very few hard shoulders, bendy roads, tourists unfamiliar with roads etc.
