    Hi
Can anyone help me out as I am confused!
I want to purchase a mobile broadband device to allow a few tablets access it. I see some plans for unlimited broadband for €20 but that is only for a phone sim. If I want a data only sim I get 7.5gb for €21.99.

Are the sims the same? Can I put a regular phone sim into this device?
I wonder should I just go for unlimited data on my phone and use it as a hotspot - would taht work?

    TIA,

Can't confirm if sims are interchangeable but I have used a pay go 3 sim in an old iPhone as a wireless hotspot back-up. Should work fine as long as you limit the number of devices and are realistic about the limitations (ie 4 tablets all trying to stream Netflix & you tube in HD may not work so well). A lot depends on what your phone is pulling and ultimately sharing out but on the plus side a phone is easy to position to optamise signals. Possibly worth testing on a phone first, an unlocked phone allows you to find the best operator but obviously you may need to compromise on signal vs data limit.
