change sterling to euro??

    Have a few quid saved in sterling that im looking to squirrell away in my irish account. Would anyone advise to take exchange rate now or hold off??

    I would hold off. I am surprised the euro is not at parity with the dollar. I could see another 10% shave off the euro (wrt to $) this year.

    I think Sterling is a far safer haven than the Euro at this point.

    None of us really have a clue, bear in mind that the rate set by the market at any given time reflects all the knowledge, hunches, software predictions etc of people much more knowledgeable and experienced than most of us boardsies (with possibly a few exceptions). That's unless of course some of us have access to the guys who are manipulating the market (as if that would ever happen!).
    Despite its limited value, my opinion would be dependent on the overall value of the account, it might not be a bad idea to change some now and let the rest run, a hedge if you will.
    I don't particularly buy into this uk economic recovery and I think the market has already factored in the worst case scenario for greece (I'd anyone actually has a clue what that is).
