This is just a pipe dream at the min because wont be starting untill next summer but just wondering what would be the cheapest option. Materials i was thinking of building the inner skin in timber like the way timber frame houses are built tied into the block with a breathable waterproof membrane attached o the ply facing block. Itll be a 10x7m garage with a sloping roof for now and will put a peak on it in a few years down the line.

My 2 options are build it in 4 inch block with the materials used sand/cement/plasterciser and wall ties

the other option will be using 4x2 timber with 18mm structural ply with breathable membrane and wall ties and few bits and bobs to attach it to the foundation or 1 course of block. Both will have wall plates.

So in a nutshell, what will be the cheapest for materials and wondering has anyone been in this stage before and worked out which one was cheapest

I have the same dream lol. I am currently looking at shipping containers and converting in a man cave/shed.

But am interested in what others say. If you have building experience go with block. I am good with wood so would use that as a frame, and get some Z-stone cladding for the front.
