    Both would probably use the same amount of electricity to boil the same quantity of water, the laws of physics demands so. ;)

    Unless the insulation is really poor in one unit relative to the other or the it's material made of is conductive.

    Are you able to make a single cup with either, without heating other water.

    The real cost will come down to heat losses, not the heating of the water.
