Cattle shed plans and building

Hey guys, looking to get plans drawn up and quotations to build a cattle shed. Hoping to get it in before the first tranche of TAMS II closes. Can anyone recommend someone who can draw up plans or a company that will do the plans and the construction? and that will do work in the Galway area.

I've never built anything on the farm before so I'm somewhat lost with the whole process. Had some names recommended from friends, but they are mostly no longer in business or not contactable.

You won't make the first round now , closing start of sept , and planning takes good few weeks , if u don't need planning if your shed gets in under the 200sq met I think , I'm waiting for planning to come back myself ,

my advise would be DON'T rush into build just too avail of a grant !make sure what your building is suitable for your needs for decades to come

Is it pricey to get the plans drawn up?
I think the 200 sq meters rule only applies if the shed is going on a greenfield site, not into a yard. You would think it would be the other way around.

There is still a chance you'll have it, TAMS closes on the 18th of September. If you know the kind of shed you want it mightn't be that bad. If you got planning in the next two weeks you still might make it. You'll need an advisor to do a nutrient management plan for the planning too. Des Glynn in Gort is good for shed design.

Great thanks, thats helpful, I'll look him up! I know they have a 14 week extension from the date of applcation if you don't qualify after this tranche so fingers crossed.

Got my full and final planning permission on the 21st of November (applied in July). Took longer than I had expected. I went with Des Glynn to get the plans drawn up and he was great. He had them drawn up quickly and dealt with everything else. The plans are for a 367sqm slatted shed with a creep area to the back. Going to scope out contractors to get a few quotes. I'll leave a post about how I get on.
