Sinus

I've always had sinus problems, as long as I can remember. Even in sport, I'd never last long because my sinus would play up. Right now, the right side of my face is in bits. My teeth and jaw are twingy, my eye and head are throbbing, I've gone slightly deaf in my right ear and just the right side of my nose feels like it wants to fall off. I honestly feel like tearing off my nose sometimes. I've taken exputex and two painkillers but they've yet to start to work. Has anyone got any tips or tricks to deal with sinus problems?

Hi , fellow sinus sufferer here- you can get over the counter meds, ask your pharmacist for advice.
If its bad you might need prescription meds, but its easily enough dealt with with meds - altho its a right pain. I feel like my face is splitting from the pain if I don't make sure to have my otc meds around.
    Is exputex an anti-histamine?

Have you tried physical manipulation? I was suffering quite badly two summers ago and googling found this video

Now I'm not a chronic sufferer and maybe it won't be as effective for those who are but it worked for me and indeed if have hardly suffered since I did this a number of times over a few weeks. I suffered on the left side and my teeth felt like they were being rammed up into my cheek!

Thanks! I might just do that. I wasn't sure how well they work. Exputex is a mucus dissolver. Sometimes it works.

I'll definitely give that a watch when I'm not relying on mobile data. Thanks!

Another good trick is to hold your nose and your breath at the same time until no longer possible to do so comfortably, reclining in bed with your back and shoulders supported like the video suggests at a 45 degree angle.
You feel a pressure build up- its odd but not by any means painful- then a few pops as your airways clear and i find this an equally effective method to the one above- which is excellent too btw.
Someone else on youtube swears by pouring a teaspoon of pure lime juice down the nasal passages, but i'm not that brave, not even in the name of science.

I've a nettipot that I use on occasion, it couldn't be worse than that! It's okay for when it's not too bad but the salt has to dissolved in boiled water then left to cool so when I'm very stopped up, I would have to be continously making them to keep on top of things. It's not worth it.
