Washing Machine Suddenly Broke

    Hi guys.

Earlier on my mother told me that the switch had been tripped in the house. Just before hand she had noticed a noise that came from the washing machine. After I reseted the mains the machine came back on but when she tried to start a wash the "Door lock" light indicator was flashing even though the door was locked.

We opened the 'hood' and looked in at the motherboard and noticed that there was a brown/copper colored coil that was covered in black. It looks like it has blown.

Does anyone know what this part is and/or know how much it would cost to get replaced?
