ID for travel to UK Question

    hello all so here is my question my wife and I Wish to travel to the UK on july 31 for a few days for a wedding my passport is fine but my wifes expires on july 17 my wife is a lithuanian citizen she has an irish driving license so we are thinking of traveling to belfast and flying from there with her license as id would this be a runner at all--- thanks in advance

    You can travel by ferry or on any airline other than Ryanair. No need to go via NI

    If they reply, they will probably quote this from their website ....

    That's correct. Get on to the embassy and get a new passport.

    no time Ixflyer it takes up to 2 months to get a passport from lithuania weve already been on to the embassy here twice and they were adamant about that we need to be in the UK on aug 1

    What about a sail-rail pass and getting the ferry? Not had ID checked in a long time..

    ive thought of that dubscottie but i still think myself traveling via belfast would be our best bet as we would be flying within the UK Anyways i will make a few phonecalls tomorow to try and get a definative answer from afew airlines and also the ferry---thanks for your help anyways

    Assuming you are Irish, she could apply for an Irish passport.

    i will ring the embassy tomorow Vicror I didnt think she could be entitled to an irish passport seeing as shes not an irish citizen

    If you're Irish and she's married to you, she is entitled to be an Irish citizen. Oh, for the moment, you also need to be male. ;)
