Do you use blinds?

I have always had blinds in addition to curtains when I was growing up and also insisted on getting them when I bought my first house with my husband. He wasn't pushed but now we are moving he is saying we really don't need blinds, just curtains. Looking at a lot of interior mags I notice that most of the houses just have curtains or a Roman blind. Wondering what people of boards have??

they seem to be rare enough (never ever saw one in houses).

but now I'm actually living in one with blinds...and I do miss the curtains, not my kind of thing.

it won't help with the heat either, I found curtains useful during the winter to keep the heat in (in case the windows weren't good)

We have wooden slatted blinds, I think they look very neat and tidy on the house and I like being able to adjust them so that we can let light in but maintain some privacy. Only problem is that they don't block out all the light and the bedrooms are bright enough in the mornings in the summer. I keep meaning to put curtains on our bedrooms but haven't had a chance yet.
