    Hi guys,

I'm building a new pc and ordering most of the parts from newegg. It will roughly cost $1000 for everything. Will I be taken to the cleaners for import charges? I've no idea how it works or if I will be charged at all. I'd appreciate any knowledge you have in this area as I don't want to be stuck with a serious bill from imports, thanks.

    So lets assume its this:
    $1000 Parts
    $100 Shipping

That gives us €989 so expect to pay around €247.25 in VAT+Duty. +€7 handling charge from the courier.

Short answer: Dont unless you want to piss away money.

You will also be giving up the warranty on most items.

It's not worth it at all. Far better off buying in Europe.
