    Hey guys,
As title says I m looking to get a balanced Flue Kit for a Potterton Statesman oil boiler (non condensing).

Boiler is about 12 years old plumber reckons internal tube is corroded and flue is drawing in exhaust fumes.

Anyone know where one of these can be got or with Potterton gone is there somewhere making alternative flue s for these

Thanks in advance for replies. Based in limerick but don't mind traveling to get replacement

My opinion, your balanced flue should be tested 100 percent with a flue gas analyser and proven without any doubt that there is a fault with the balanced flue.

would agree with agusta its a very simple check to carry out once you have a flugas analyser

I don't know what parts are available for pottertons now but I did price a timer recently from a supplier in limerick and it was available price was crazy at £135 + vat

+1 what the lads are saying. I was assuming a flue gas analyser was being used as how else would the plumber know exhaust fumes are being drawn back in

Burner could be still gasping for air with air fully open. That would then be the assumption, assuming all poc passage ways were clear.

burner would probably be in constant hunt mode ie stop/ start all the time without going to lockout

removal of the bf snorkel hose would clarify this as then air intake would be taken from source and would run away happily

I have seen cheaper option used ;). Seperate air intake snorkled to g a grille.

ya I know what your saying but you still have a leak in the flue to consider which could be spilling pocs into the cavity and thus into the living space

a dangerous fix in some situations me thinks and not 1 id be overly happy with

The only fix is to fit a new flue and fga

id be very surprised if a new bf kit was available anyway so a new boiler might be the best option
