    Hi Folks

Can anyone recommend a good garage/mechanic who works on air con. I've an 08 V40

My air con is blowing warm air when the weather is hot but does have a slight cooling effect at speed

I've had it regassed and have been to two "specialists". One just regassed it again and said there were no leaks. The other to be fair found a leak at an o ring and regassed it. It worked for a couple of days but I'm back to square one again

    Cheers

    Where are you based?

South Dublin but flexible enough to travel

Theses guys offer a thorough service for around €110, and a free valet, worth a call.

If it worked for a few days it must just be another leak somewhere rather than a part failure.

Did they use the UV stuff to find the previous leak? If they did they would be best leaving it a few days before checking for leaks.

Chris on 086 <PM this>, based in Longford I think, but has a mobile unit and travels nationwide.

They ran the UV tracer and found a leak (although small). I'd happily go back and have them look for another leak but it is working in the morning when its cool and at speed.

It seems to me most people rely on the Air Con units to do the work for them without really understanding the rest of the system. Compressor is working a well so I suspect there's something else causing the issue

John will sort you out without ripping you off. He's been around years and comes highly recommended, personally & from members of other Irish motoring forums I visit. He's also based in South Dublin and will travel to you if necessary (i.e. at work!).
