    Hi,

My gf's nephew is looking for a gaming pc and has €550 for his budget.

Ideally for this budget the expectation is for the following

    21-24 inch monitor, 5ms refresh

    chassis
    8gb ram
    1-2tb hd
best possible graphics card, mobo and processor with appropriate power supply
a basic dvd drive will do

no peripherials such as keyboard, mouse needed as i can provide these.

no issue if a self build, i can do this.

no software required i have all needed.

Looking for suggestions on where to purchase required hardware within budget.

    thanks.

    i3 4160 €115
    Some H81M board €65
    1tb HDD €55
    Zalman Z4 €20
    300w PSU €30
    8gb RAM €59
    Second hand GTX 750Ti €125

    Total roughly €460

    Leaves €90 for a monitor

All parts from hardwareversand after geizhals affiliate site.
    Second hand card from CEX

If can stretch €30 get a second hand R9 270X and a 350w PSU. Probably less than €30

Should preform on a par with XOne or PS4 for the most part. Going forward, it'll fall behind them but that's a rough estimate of where it sits now.

    Any Qs ask away

What does this sentence mean? Cheaper way to use hardwareversand?

Yeah, knocks 5% or so off most items, I haven't the first notion how affiliate sites work but I assume every part with the geizhals discount gives them ad revenue, and they pass on a little to HWVS to keep everyone in money, and save the customer a little. Or not. It's cheaper anyways

    Did you build this yet?

This hasnt been built as my gf's nephew is possibly looking at selling his laptop to get a higher spec.

Although more suggestions for systems at the current budget are greatfully accepted.
