    Hi,
I have ~90 frontage to my property (its long but not that wide) lined mostly with evergreen trees. They are quite mature and have been topped from about 8m to 4m over the past year. I now want to work on their depth. I trimmed a couple of them to see how it looks. It allowed me to clean out the brambles and ivy growing through and I gained about 2m of Garden.
If I continue these trees will only have branches on one side. I've seen this done on other properties. What impact will this have on the trees? My concern of course is that they will die/loose foliage on the outside.

    Any advise would be appreciated.
