Well it's 84 k miles not km , ring and ask for back story , motor check mileage check is not great for older cars that haven't changed hands much .

Possibly miles rather than Km, which would be low, but not implausible.

the only way you will be certain of the mileage is if it has a full dealer history (unlikely).

However the NCT certs will give you an indication over the years of the average mileage it is doing each 2 years (annually once it got over 10 years). That should help to decide if its genuine.

    84k miles is 135kms

It could be a low mileage car, plenty of them about and it looks clean from the outside. You would know from an inspection on one of them if its genuine or not, the trim, plastics and wear on those cars is a great indicator of use.

My neighbour has a 2003 Polo from new, only 50k miles on it. So they are about.

My wife had two of those Focus' a 99 and an 04. One was a terrible car, the other was a great one!

On their other ads they have mixed up kms and miles so that probably the case here too.

    if its 135dkm for a car that is from 2002, 10384 km a year, 865km / month

    compare to mine, 173k, 1992, 7521km a year, 626km a month.

So its not that less as you think :)

    84k miles is 135kms

    13 year old car.
    Sounds legit.

For me I would have about 80k kms on mine. :)

The main body of the advert says it's 84k miles which on a 13 year old car is below average for a petrol car of that year. That is not to say it is clocked as there are people out there who genuinely don't drive that much. Judging by the photo of the interior my initial thought is that it is genuine as it looks very clean but ultimately it would depend on a visual inspection and service history. Just be aware that the seller is a small time dealer of some sort with other vehicles for sale also.

At that price it doesnt really matter if its clocked ! I would judge on condition of stg wheel interior engine pedal etc

In 2012 my car was in the garage and a relative gave me a loan of her 13 year old 99 reg opel corsa. Horrible, horrible car to drive from Dublin to Mayo in considering I had a 530 petrol at the time. But it only had 11,000 miles on it. Approx 850 miles a year, 17 a week. So they do exist, no reason to think that car is clocked if I owned that car since new the mileage would be approx the same as it is now

Just as another example my mother drives a 98 Almer with 35k miles on the clock. Less then 2000 miles a year.

My 03 Ford only has 22k miles. The bulk of those were on it when I bought it. I do less than 1000 miles a year.

It's taxed until November 2015, but the NCT expired May 23 2015. Although the NCT doesn't mean much, it'd be something I'd ask about, although there is a backlog in most places for NCT.
