Rectangular shower drains/channels

Chatting to plumber today about upcoming work on a new build (mine). Was asking about rectangular/channel shower drains, but he has no experience fitting them or sourcing them.

    Some info:
    Will be installing against wall.
Floor build up is, hollowcore (150mm), insulation (40mm), screed (60mm), and finally a floor tile of undecided thickness.

Do shower drains (even standard square drains) usually require some of the hollowcore to be cut out?
Can anyone recommend some decent fittings (by PM if necessary), and any tips/pointers I need to consider.

ABS with brushed stainless steel square grid. Not to BS 3943. For wet room or tiled shower. P/N 19501 needed to give UK size outlet.
Part No. Description Unit Price Qty
19284 Wet room shower waste £43.56

Company I used to use in the UK called BES LTD. I would fit the waste pipe and bag it so that I could retrofit the trap afterwards.
