Soooo im watching dynamo on tv

Some of the things he does are clearly slight of hand but others are baffling

Do you think these are staged or do you think they have some powers/abilities that a normal person doesnt have

Definitely black magic or powers of the unknown.

Or camera tricks, who knows. ..

They have the power/ability to pull off very impressive tricks, that's about it.

Dynamo is just like anybody else. No super powers or anything out of the ordinary. Instead he is a great entertainer with a set of skills that makes you believe what he does is magic. Lots of it is slight of hand. I reckon some of his stuff has to be staged. For example the stunt he done in times square.

I want to believe what you've said but it sounds so ludicrous.

What's interesting in full part is that his name is dynamo. Now I don't know the Oxford definition of dynamo but my granpapa had one on the rear wheel of his bicycle. This device would oscillate as the wheels spun when the bike was pedalled in motion. It would generate a current for a light on the bike. Now if we take this gentleman being a magician and apply the same principles of this dynamo as I understand it to be to him. We'd get a man who turns around and makes light. Nothing interesting huh? But what if I say he spins people around and blinds them with his magic? Huh, ya. Now however, it's not magic as a dynamo is not magic but a device which works on basic principles of science. One can carefully consider the facts and prudently observe that no magic takes place. Instead an external force is being applied in which we get an end result of light. The light being the magic. In conclusion dynamo might very possibly have had a dynamo on his bike as a kid like my granpapa did or very well possible he does still if he is that way inclined environmentally speaking.

I actually liked Dynamo when he did the sleight of hand and close up stuff but his big "tricks" are so obviously staged.

One in particular turned me right off him. He had some guy hold up a long coat and apparently crawled through the glass in a window behind him with a crowd of people the other side of the window looking like they had just witnessed some amazing magic.
The crowd were obviously instructed to look amazed while he crawled out the window without glass next to the one he was supposed to.
There must have been close to 20 people the other side of the window that were in on the whole thing.
That's not a proper illusion, that there can f*ck right off.

Clever editing helps too, and I would say a lot of these TV programmes look good due to it.

    This example from Blaine
    http://www.secrets-explained.com/david-blaine/levitation

You can clearly see that Blaine is about 2ft off the ground, but thats not what the levitation trick looks like in any shape or form. You are only able to get the height that corresponds to the length of your foot. Max.

In fact here's a child to explain it !!

They are illusionists and mentalists. If he had 'magic' powers, do you think he'd be a billionaire by now or still working for a tv channel impressing children and ugly people on the street?

Yuri Gellar says he used his abilities in a Casino one night and walked out with a good few thousand dollars. Something happened him that night - mentally - which he understood as a sign not to use his abilities in that fashion again.

    Dynamo is a fraud.

He is not a fraud. He is a magician. Slight of hand, trick of the eyes, left hand, right hand....

Its not fraud, it's his job, it's entertainment.Just science cloaked with secrecy.

Camera tricks and stooges make him a fraud. Anybody can do that.

I love watching magicians do proper magic tricks, by which i mean, carefully planned and practiced routines aimed at misdirection and sleight of hand to perform acts that seem to be otherwise impossible. I love trying to figure out how they are done

I hate watching 'mentalists' or 'magicians' that rely on stooges or camera editing.
It's cheating. These guys are good at putting on a show, and even David Blaine has some serious skills as a performer, but stooges and shills are just wrong and even the suspicion that there are stooges tends to 'ruin the magic' for me.

Yeah everything but the "big" staged ones grab my attention and absolutley wreck my head as I can't figure out how they're done.

What about the trick Keith Barry used to do where he'd throw a deck of cards at a window and your chosen card would be stuck to the outside of the glass, how the hell is that done?

Are you both watching people with very small hands or confused with "sleight of hand"?:)

Do you believe he used camera trickery & stooges? that is what people mean by a fraud.

In which case at best he could be described as an actor or possible a producer, and actor who is playing a magician, as he is not good enough to do it for real, or the tricks would be impossible for anybody to pull off. I would expect camera tricks & CGI to be in films like the prestige.

I don't know why they do it, it really ruins them for most people. No matter what David Blaine does I will always think of him as the cheating cunt who edited in himself levitating. I know 2 people who actually believed that crap.
