Got my renewal in (AIG) last week. So far have gotten quotes from some companies online.... AIG's renewal letter bet both their online quote & other online quotes

    WTF

(Yes, I made sure everything in my renewal letter was correct)

Had the same with liberty this week. The renewal they offered was cheaper than their new customer online quote and has been my cheapest offer so far by a good margin.

They usually offer discount to new customers at rates cheaper than their existing customers. I suppose customers who don't shop around are to blame for them being able to get away with this.

Only just got off the phone to 123.ie, their renewal was 450, being cheeky I said I'd already been offered the same cover by a different company for 400 and they matched it.

Checked online and the next cheapest I could find was 460 out of 7 or 8 companies.

I think the OP was surprised his renewal quote was the cheapest he could get, which is the opposite of the usual case?

My missus' renewal quote was in last week, she couldn't find anything lower as of yet, but hasn't checked everywhere.

Dreading my renewal tbh, any quotes I've done have been at least 200 extra. I'm a bit ahead of myself so the real check will happen in August. But still...:(

Unless they added it on to the renewal in order to take it off when the customer rang them back. :)
