are they only created to make money and too appeal to teenage girls ???.

Usually there these good looking guys and one always turns out gay or something

I find all this X Factor stuff to be a load of bolexe and money making scam for producers such as simon cowell and loui walsh.

bands such as 5 seconds to summer, The Vamps etc are just fads, teenagers love them and want to go see them live, buy there music, shirts etc but once the next big band arrives they will be forgotton about.

All the music is just overproduced studio crap and its a insult when these band perform classics by great bands such as Oasis, ACDC, undertones etc and all the girls wetting themselves.

my neice is only a few months old im scared to think what kind of **** she will like in a few years time.

Dont start me about loui walsh

No, they are generally a creation of highest artistic integity, formed with the sole purpose of challenging the core values of human society, stopping at nothing until they have succeeded in provoking profound change in mass culture.

As Keith Duffy said "I'd be laughing at me if I wasn't me".

Hate the bloody things but yes...even at the grand old age of 40, I'd join Take That, wiggle my bottom and count my cash.

    Bo kinda sums it:
I'm in magazines full of model teens, so far above you
So read them and hate yourself, and pay me to tell you I love you
And the parents will always come along, because their little girl is in love
And how could love be wrong? How could love be wrong?

Boybands have been around since The Beatles and The Monkees, and they'll be around for a long time yet. Are they crap? For the most part yes, but neither the OP, myself or most people who'll probably post in this thread are their demographic. It's easy enough to ignore them so let them at it to make their money and I'll listen to whatever I want to listen to.

In my opinion, guitar bands and boy bands are on the way out.

Don't worry. Children are pretty easy to brainwash.

In a few years time you will have as much access to your niece as you want. You can say you're just bringing her for ice cream, or to the cinema or whatever, but use this time to take control of her mind instead. If boybands come on the car stereo, just laugh and say 'Aren't girls and boys who like this music so dumb, Amy' (for this post we'll be calling your niece Amy) and she will look at you quizzically and this is when stick on Suicidal Tendencies' 'Institutionalized' and turn up real loud. At first she will cry, but don't mind that, it's to be expected. The chorus will eventually hook her and pretty soon she will be headbanging along with you as you rip down the motorway. Then over the next six months just keep playing stuff you want her to enjoy and appreciate. Best of luck dude.

yes they're obnoxious and shallow means of manipulating teenys via their reproductive circuitry.

but then again so is page 3, mens mags, baywatch back in the day, for the dewds.

both categories are never new, just re-hashes of the same thing, slightly different tits or slightly different plastic dancing bell ends.

worlds a shallow place looks will make up for talent a lot of the time and get you a long way.

They used to have a few catchy tunes in fairness. These days it seems to be dire love songs to appeal to their female adolescent audience presumably.

Yes, they're aimed chiefly at tweens and teenagers, particularly girls, with some crossover from the young-mother-working-in-office taste vacuum. Which is why it's a bit lame when you see guys in their twenties getting upset and worked up over their existence - it's a a completely different target market, and one that's eminently ignorable if you're not in the business of looking for stuff to be angry about. I didn't think much about political talk shows when I was seven, and I have no mad interest in children's cartoons now. Doesn't mean they don't have their place.
