Does it make sense from a protein and cost point of view to top after grazing, row and bale?

Any time I did it it was a waste if time an diesel because the cows would turn their arses to the bales.

Any time I have had to top I leave for a few days to wilt and put young stock in for 3 days they will clean anything worth eating.
