Yes today will be 86401 seconds long. I'm planning to use that extra second for on a nice lie in.
clocks will advance in the following manner - 23:59:59, 23:59:60, 00:00:00. The 23:59:59 second is repeated twice at the operating system level1

It's the Y2K bug all over again I tells ya, nuclear power plants will melt down, planes will drop like stones from the sky and toasters will take over the earth!
In reality it might cause problems for some sites and possibly financial transactions which are really dependent upon things happening in a linear fashion and tend to use milliseconds.
Last time it happened in 2012 Reddit crashed so yeah, the world will probably end tonight. Bye everyone.0 -
