Foil Insulation on wood question.

Hey, just looking for some advice on a room i am upgrading in a 1900 redbrick mid terrace house.
I am putting K18 insulated slab 62.5mm on the external wall which has a tall bay window with teak as the reveal and wainscoting under the window.

there is no insulation behind any of the wood, the wood is sound but not the best visually, what I was thinking of doing is fixing 50mm foil backed insulation to the wood all around the reveal and over the wainscoting. Then have my carpenter fit new wood detail over the insulation. My reason for keeping the wood is not having to build a new frame for boards.

Is this correct or will i need a vapor barrier? should i just use the insulated slab on the reveals as this has vapor barrier built in. Thanks

You are asking for trouble leaving the wood in place as it will eventually rot.

What is the wall construction: solid wall?
    Have you read this

You are also asking for trouble with the K18.
What about a nattural wood fibre insulation with a proper breathable plaster finish: not gypsum

Its a solid wall wall. red brick exterior. wells its a mix of brick stone and mortor behind the external brick. a very cracked lime render on the inside which has been covered by painted wallpaper for the last 40+ years.

there hasnt been mould growth behind the wallpaper just where there was a major roof leak few years ago. the wall seems to have behaved ok with all the wall paper on it.

why is the k18 trouble? i will be fixing it to 2×1 on strips of dpc. shouldn't this create enough of an airflow between the two? as brick is very porous the walls should be completely dried out during the warmer climate.
