Someone Who Can REALLY Cut Hair

    Hi,

The girl who has cut my hair for the last 20 years has left Dublin.

I'm now looking to find someone who is as skilled at cutting hair as she was. She'd take about an hour and did a wonderful job, leaving my hair very neat.

I should add that I've really straight hair and any mistakes made when cutting will remain as the hair grows, as the hair doesn't curl. This makes it very difficult to cut properly. Virtually every haircut that I've had before I discovered this lady and every one I've had since she left, has been very poor.

    Has anyone any suggestions?

    Age? Style? Price range?

Waldorf are quality fwiw - ~€35 a cut but it sounds like what you're looking for.

    Age: 50
    Style: Neat 50 year old
    Price: Doesn't matter.

Tried Waldorf but you can't book a particular person and have had some 'interesting' cuts.

Try Finnegan's Green Rooster, they're an offshoot of the Waldorf. Exact same quality and you can book who you want

What kind of style do you have? Side part? Same length all over?

You could do what I did and get a Wahl hair clippers in Argos. Takes a few minutes to get the hang of but I can do a short back and sides and long enough top for a nice neat side part very easily now.

Try Rory in The Men's Room in Amiens St - between Busaras and Connolly Station.

    Highly skilled at cutting hair.

Many thanks for all the suggestions.

Twenty years bitter experience informs me that the above statement is not true.

During the aforementioned twenty years, I considered this, such was my desperation! I never could muster up enough courage, though.

Totally disagree. Im sure some women can do an excellent job at cutting men's hair. But any of my friends that go to hairdressers look like ****. My friend goes to one of the top womens salons in Dublin, but his hair looks like ****. A women doesnt have the experience to fade, two harsh cuts into one blended one. If you are constantly cutting womens hair, you dont have the skills with a clippers to blend mens hair properly

I find it hard to find a barber that is willing to cut more than a centimetre off my length. I get a haircut that looks ok for two weeks and then it's sh1t again.

Can you cut it shorter? Then it'll take about 2 weeks until it gets to the 'ok stage'. Four weeks until it looks like ****e.

I try. Oh, I try. No matter what, I get a tiny trim.

I like the Waldorf because they will do exactly what you ask them to and give some advice as well.

One guy there understands the 'cutting it shorter to let it grow in' idea.

Cool. I might try them. Thanks.

The Waldorf are excellent, but I'd also recommend Sams on the quays. I get fantastic cuts there and you can book in for specific times and barbers.
