Tattoos over moles/freckles/other skin blemishes

    I'm hoping to get my second piece done in the near future. Currently to figure out what design and where. Regarding the where, I'd like to get it done somewhere on my upper torso, but I'm pretty much littered with moles, freckles, SGD the like.

    Can I tattoo over these or would an artist recommend against it?

    I've tattooed over scars, freckles and even had a healing ingrown hair which was tattooed over, was grand! I told the artist about the ingrown hair and she said it was fine to go over and it was.

    Never over a mole or skin tag though as I don't have many. So not too sure, all the above didn't hurt significantly more so it was very bearable, very on par with the rest of the tattoo.

    I've had recommendations against tattooing over a mole before. The general thinking was that you wouldn't be able to see if there was any changes in it.
