    HI All,

I would like some advise on the following in regards to how to proceed or likelihood of a negative outcome.
Basically a while back I had an issue with an unmarked Garda Jeep. he indicated to move out from behind a truck. To allow him to do so would have meant me jamming on the brakes so I drove past while giving him a stare. He managed to move out after 4 or 5 cars and proceeded to follow me with blue lights etc. I pulled over and he proceeded to verbally abuse me asking me was I retarded etc etc etc. quite the gentleman. He was in plain clothes and refused then to give me his name or show me his badge. he then made me ring my boss (it was lunch hour) to come collect me from the side of the road as he was taking my car. I asked why he was and he said cause he ****ing can. (he didn't take the car). He then went to leave so I again asked what his name was and he returned with you don't ****ing need to know. I instantly went to the closest Garda station to complain and no one could figure out who this guy was for some time. (days later he was tracked down) that evening I lodged a formal complaint with the Ombudsman. it was delayed as I decided how I would proceed. Eventually it was lodged and ombudsman was agreed that this was an over-reaction by the Garda who is a seargent. and recommended he get a written warning. 2 days after he received the warning I got a summons from a cout for carelss driving. Despite the garda telling the ombudsman it was a case of "speeding". My question is how to face the court. Get a solicitor or try get it struck out on the basis the Garda has already put in writing that the case was a speeding one and he has no way of proving my speed. thanks in advance
