Best way to repair/protect oxidised alloy

I have a 2.5 year old cube peloton with a carbon fork. Was cleaning it the other day when I noticed some paint bubbling at the point where the alloy bit of the steerer meets the brake bolt. I didn't even know part of the fork was alloy until yesterday!

Anyways, I gently sanded back the paint and the oxidised material to get back to the frame and there doesn't look to be too much corrosion. See attached pic for area involved. I'm guessing it's far too late to get anything done under warranty so i'm just looking to see what my best options are for getting this water tight again. Because of where it is located I don't care about the cosmetics, but really want to prevent further corrosion, especially because it is located so close to the bond between the alloy and the carbon forks.

I assume an area like this is too large for nail polish? Have heard mention on various fora of using some sort of marine epoxy paint. Anyone had this issue before? What did you do? Want to avoid the EUR100 plus professional respray option if possible.
