    Hi , I'm looking for a touring bike for someone tall , 58cm to 60cm frame range , by touring bike I mean something for carrying camping gear for a week or two of travel . Something like an old Dawes galaxy or Raleigh Randonneur with drop handle bars and bar end shifters would be ideal . It's a long shot but I'd love to find one for some trips I have planned before I have to go out and buy a new one .

    How about a Genesis Croix de fer? Comfy Reynolds 725 steel, clearance for wide tyres and fenders, disc brakes for great stopping power, built up with a brand new Tiagra groupset.

    My croix de fer would be very similar to the disc trucker, let me know if you're interested and can send you some pictures. Thanks

    If the OP's not interested in the CDF, I wouldn't mind a look.

    @Barrymanilow.
    Just be careful about xbikes for touring. A dedicated touring bike will have longer chainstays. Purpose being that you'll not be banging your heels off your panniers which can be the case with panniers on regular bikes.
    Can be a headwrecker if you get it wrong.
