    Hi folks
I drive approx 1500/1000 km a week. The majority of it on motorways in Europe. At the moment I have a 2.0 Ford mondeo ghia automatic turbo diesel. I want to upgrade and wouldring what recommendations of vehicle you could give me.
I had a bmw x5 last week and have a volvo x90 this week. But have been told to stay away from jeeps and go for Mercedes or passat. Any advice thanks.

Hi Reallies. I wouldn't look at jeeps unless you need for x-country or towing.

    Just my 4 pesatas ;)

Depending on budget, an Audi A8 would be my suggestion!

If the majority of your driving is motorway then a SUV is a bit pointless. Unless you specifically need 4wd and/or high ground clearance then best stick to a comfortable saloon or estate car for mile munching.

Large engined diesel A4 or A6, with Quattro :)
AWD is underestimated by many imo.

I must say the bmwx5 was so comfortable and secure, and I loved it, but everyone said it no good for the admount of driving I do :-(

dont understand why . maybe down to it having worse fuel economy ? thats the only reason i can think of. but any SUV will have poor economy compared to a saloon . im looking at getting an x5 myself at the moment :D

    Have saved this thread.

I'll be looking to change my car in the coming 12 months. Currently driving an Opel Astra 1.4 petrol '00, and most of my driving is a commute from Swords to Park West, so its a bit of M1 and then M50 up to J7.

The odd time I scoot local. But the bulk of my driving is on the motorway. Probably be looking in that bottom tier there, but some good options.

Always wanted a BMW, don't think I can ever justify the cost though :(
