I was thinking of buying one of those GPS devices that warns you of speed cameras locations. I saw a Inforad K3 on ebay fairly cheap. Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these. They come with lifetime updates. Just no sure if they would have a lot of the Irish locations as I think it is a UK company. Thanks.

They're all on the Garda website, just stick them into a sat nav app on your phone.

Oh, didn't realise you could do that, what app do you use for that?

I just remember where they are :D

Google Maps if you have a lot of data allowances, NavFree is pretty good and doesn't use data. It has an upgrade you can buy for a few euro that has the cameras in it if it's easier.

The government have a heap of them free to use. They put them up on 8 foot poles just prior to where the speed vans will be

They don't seem to work otherwise we would not need the vans

The vans are out to make money otherwise they'd have them on the dangerous sections of road, slowing traffic but not getting any money, instead of on the wide open stretch, making money but not slowing traffic.

Every phone navigation app I've used has had a speed trap locations.

Why, do they not let you know where the vans are... Unless you mean they don't make you slow down, in which case your gps is unlikely to do so either

I had an old Garmin sat nav years ago and was able to upload the speed traps as a list of POIs (points of interest).

But there were a ridiculous number of them.
It was going off for every single garda layby on the motorway where they "might" pull in to.
