Fed Up!

Fed up going to races, spending €15 and god knows how much on fuel. To races in and around the range of 60-80km's, ya I'm stuck in A3 and theres the whole Junior debate. This I dont mind, as I like giving as good as I can get, mixing it with young fellas nearly 15years my junior. But the distances are digraceful, even my mother could hang in for the sprint in some of the races.

Its all about protecting the juniors they say, burn out and all that. But has there not been a change to the regulations that increases the distance, to allow juniors to race upto 140km's

"20. The maximum distance for one-day races shall be as follows: -

    Junior Men 140kms
    Senior Men 200kms
    Junior Women 80kms
    Elite Women 140kms
    A4 Riders 120kms
    "

I mean come on! I know there's issues with marshals and lads out on the road for all hours, to them I'm very grateful. But 1:30-2hr race, sur I could go as hard and stay at home! And not pollute the atmosphere.

    Anyone got any opinions!

If you want longer races, maybe go up to A2 next year?

60-80kms is more than enough time to go up the road if you're not a sprinter.

Upgrade to A2 if you want longer races.
If you just want a longer spin why not cycle there and back..

you or your club could also organise some longer races.
