Sound Reflection in a Room

    I am trying to work out the sound intensity increase due to reverberation in a small room
    2m x 2.5m x 2.4m

    my sound source is rated at 37dB (Free Field test) but I am reading 60dB.

    Background noise was recorded at 36dB.

    Using the following equation I have calculated the absorption of the room to be
    0.512m2 Sabine.

    A = S1 α1 + S2 α2 + .. + Sn αn = ∑ Si αi
    Where
    A = The absorption of the room (m2 Sabine).
    Sn = Area of the actual surface.
    αn = Absorption coefficient of the actual surface.

    Does anyone know if it is possible that the reflected sound could be responsible for the 23dB increase in sound level?
