    Hi All

The charger wire for my macbook air has a slight nick in it and it doesn't always charge.

Looking to replace it but don't want to spend a fortune, anyone any non-apple options that may work ?

It is nicked just behind the magnetic part that connects to the laptop.

    Cheers !

Provided it doesn’t look like accidental damage, it might be worth bringing it into an AASP. Apple will sometimes replace Magsafe chargers outside of warranty. Ring ahead and see what they say.

    Cheers, I might do that

It looks like the plastic coating just wore away which is a bit weird

Same thing happened my last macbook so brought it to nearest applecare centre and got a new free charger.
It was 2 years old at that stage, exact same thing, protector peeling away from the charger and sporadic charging.
Maybe its a fault from the wire often being kinked, if you know what i mean?
Hope you get some joy from Apple, they're about 80e to replace new.
