Well. Im living in London buying a car next week and want to bring it home to Ireland and park it up there till I come home next year. I'll tax and insure it here in london to prove its registered here for at least 6 months? Will i get away with having it in Ireland? Thanks

You need to have owned it in the UK for at least 12 months afaik.

You need to own it and use it in the UK for 6 months before returning. You might get away with parking it in Ireland somewhere that it might not be seen. In the past, on reregging I know people who were asked for additional proofs such as parking tickets, council parking permits, congestion charge exemptions certs etc. that was before NCTS took over the inspection duties and I have no idea if any of this is still sought.

Ultimately you're trying to pull a swift one, only you can decide if it's worth the risk.
