Wasn't allowed do my test because the front tyre was slightly scratched.

I practised for two months in Mother's car, driving her around and having regular sessions with the instructor.

Everything was going great until the day of the test, when the examiner decided that the side wall of the tyre was cracked and wouldn't let me do it.

My instructor said he's seen worse cars being allowed do the test, but it's down to the decision of the tester.

I showed this to my Mother and she didn't think it was that bad and also pointed out that the car had passed the NCT test.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I'm also trying to applying for the cancellation list but the RSA website has been down for the past few weeks.

Cracks in the side wall are never good and it just appears that you where unlucky, or lucky!, that the tester noticed them and now they need to be replaced.

They have no idea what tyres where on for the NCT and can only go with what's presented on the day of the driving test.

Can you post a picture of the damage to the tyre?
