    Age bullacks or heifers
Hate to commit to answer we more familiar with bulls and o grades

55% is always a good safe answer

bullocks,i would be keeping them till around 35 months,i like size in cattle,

i thought it would be better as i sold whiteheads last year and i weighed them indidivually and they killed out at just under 54 percent out of good british friesan cows

To be honest I doubt the customer gives a sh*te, as long as it's the right price. Size and age are only tools used by factories to cut price.

I use a non sciencetific method I consider that cattle O=3+ kill around 50%. After than I adjust up by 1%/partial grade so O+3+ kill around 51% and allow about 1% for ever two fat sub grades. That means that O=4= will kill about 51%.

From this an R+3+ will kill 54% etc

    Would you factor in age?
    I find a 3yr old is a % higher than 2yr old too
