I was walking in knocksink wood today and could hear a plane doing what sounded like circuits out of powerscourt. It was only when I got a small gap in the trees I seen a small single engine plane doing loops, stalls, barrell rolls etc. looked and sounded like great craic.
Anyone know was there something on there today or was it just someone out having fun. Is there any regular user of that strip? I haven't heard anything about it since the accident a few years back :(

I have a very short video from between the trees I'll post up as soon as YouTube stops acting up

I don't know, but if it was around 5:45 yesterday evening, there was some interference on the LiveATC Dublin feed, it was picking up some pilot doing aerobatics and commentating on it over the radio, explaining to the crowd what he was doing. Must have been doing it accidentally on one of the frequencies the Dublin LiveATC scanner picks up (or else the scanner is including some non DUB frequency). You should be able to find it on their archive.

    What colour was the aircraft?

It was so far in the distance I couldn't tell (no glasses on). YouTube still won't upload for me but I'll try Vimeo or something.

The times match up with what _dof_ says, I had a listen to the atc from 17:30 to 18:00 but didn't hear anything.

Sounds like it alright. Some noise off them.
Raging I was in a tree covered valley with no chance of seeing it.

It's there alright, but the time in LiveATC are UTC, so to get the 5.30 to 6pm recording you need to select the 1630-1700Z recording.
