Shinty In Dublin

    If there is anybody in and around Dublin that plays Shinty or even would go for a hit about?

    Just moved from the Highlands to Ireland

    StuH I think I can safely say that shinty doesn't exist in Ireland. Your best bet is probably to round up a few Scottish expatriates. There are annual compromise shinty-hurling games between Irish and Scottish teams. I don't know if any of the participants would be interested. I doubt it. The universities here have consistently proven themselves the most fertile ground for trying something new in sport. I read about a GAA club in Glasgow whose womens' section, for lack of competition in hurling, turned to shinty. Maybe if you were to contact them one or two of them ( students? ) could be returning to Ireland sometime, and might give it a go.
